This role requires a strong technology leader with deep expertise in card payments and the ability to stay close to architecture and key technical decisions.

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the development and operation of mission-critical payment infrastructure used by clients globally. This role requires a strong technology leader with deep expertise in card payments and the ability to stay close to architecture and key technical decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the company’s technology strategy in line with business objectives
- Lead and scale a multi-layered technology organization (100+ people) across engineering, infrastructure, and support
- Ensure reliability, performance, and availability of high-load, 24/7 payment systems
- Stay closely involved in architecture and key technical decisions across platforms and infrastructure
- Drive development of secure, scalable payment solutions in a regulated environment
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and frameworks (PCI DSS, DORA, ISO, GDPR)
- Oversee IT risk management, security, and operational resilience
- Manage external vendors, partners, and technology suppliers
- Own technology budgeting and resource planning
Requirements:
- Strong experience in card payments (issuing/acquiring) is essential
- Proven track record in a senior technology leadership role (CTO / Head of Engineering / similar)
- Solid hands-on technical background (software development, infrastructure, APIs, or data centers)
- Ability to engage in deep technical discussions and work closely with engineering teams
- Experience working in regulated environments and with compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, DORA, ISO, GDPR)
- Experience building and operating high-availability 24/7 systems
- Strong leadership experience managing large teams through layered structures
- Business-oriented mindset with the ability to align technology with company goals
- Experience with partner/vendor management and budgeting
- Familiarity with AI and modern technologies is a plus
