Senior Software Engineer (Python and AI) for Swisscom

Due to the growth of the company, we are looking for a Software Engineer (with Python and AI) to join the team.

Size of Team in Riga: 200 developers.

The product and the team:
Team is building AI-powered internal products that empower teams across Swisscom to work smarter, faster and more efficiently.
This includes intelligent assistants, knowledge platforms and productivity tools that simplify access to information, automate repetitive work and support better decision-making.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build and maintain modern software solutions that support internal Swisscom teams
  • Develop AI-enabled applications that simplify knowledge access, automate workflows and improve productivity
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers, Product Owners and business stakeholders to deliver valuable solutions
  • Integrate AI capabilities into existing and new products where they create measurable value
  • Contribute to technical architecture, code quality and engineering best practices
  • Continuously improve reliability, scalability and maintainability of our applications
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and agile ceremonies
  • Help shape the future of AI-driven engineering

AI is at the core of many of the products we build.

You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Develop intelligent applications using Agentic AI
  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into internal products and workflows
  • Build AI-powered solutions that improve productivity and knowledge access
  • Evaluate AI-generated output critically and apply AI responsibly
  • Explore emerging AI technologies and contribute to their adoption within Swisscom

Requirements:
  • Experience developing modern software applications
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A product mindset with an understanding of product architecture, user experience and business value
  • Curiosity for AI, automation and emerging technologies
  • Good English skills
Engineering
  • Python (FastAPI)
  • AWS Cloud
  • REST APIs & Microservices
  • Git & modern software development practices
  • TypeScript (Angular) (nice to have)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) (nice to have)
  • Experience with AI-powered applications and modern cloud architectures is a strong plus
DevOps&Delivery
Ideally, you have experience with:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Automated testing
  • Monitoring & observability
  • Agile software delivery
  • DevOps principles

Company offers:
  • Salary from 3800 to 5500 EUR gross (depending on experience);
